This page contains drawings made at different intervals in the career, shown in various group and solo shows since 1993. The charcoal/ pastel drawings were made in Bangalore in 1993 after my return from Ahmedabad. In the years (early 1990’s) I spent in Ahmedabad, the central theme of my drawings and paintings were about communal violence that occurred not so infrequently in the walled city. Unfortunately there are no documentation of the drawings from this time. After my return to Bangalore, I felt I was amidst the beginning of a big change that the city was going to go through. I created drawings and painting with images dealing with the issues related to industrial violence and its aftermath. This resulted in my first one-person exhibition titled ‘Wounded Terrain’ in 1994.
